Guilherme de Pádua was sentenced to 19 years and 6 months in prison for the murder of actress Daniela Perez, daughter of author Gloria Perez. Daniela was brutally murdered in 1992. The two were colleagues in the soap opera Body and Soul, from the TV Globo. Pádua was released in 1999 after serving a third of his sentence. Since 2017, he was a pastor at the Lagoinha Baptist Church in Belo Horizonte.

“Shortly before 10 p.m., I received a phone call from a sister telling me about one of our pastors who had just passed away. It had a huge impact on me, because this morning I led a service and he was with his wife in the front pew,” said Pastor Márcio Valadão. “He committed that terrible crime with Daniela Perez, was arrested, served his sentence and converted,” he continued.
